Guadalajara, Jalisco Trip + Tips when traveling to Mexico

First off, let me start by saying that if you haven’t traveled to Mexico… please do yourself a favor and GO! You get to enjoy the culture, the amazing food, the people and you even save a whole lotta money! If you’ve been following me for a while, ya’ll know my husband and I love to travel but especially to any place in Mexico. This time, we decided we would visit Guadalajara, Jalisco for his 30th birthday! & it did not disappoint! BEST TRIP EVER! I’m so excited to finally let you all in on my tips and hacks when I book and coordinate our trips to Mexico.

At Tres Mujeres Tequilera

The very first thing I did was obviously book our flights. I always start any trip with booking flights to make sure that we can get the best dates and times (we hate having layovers) so I try my best to get direct flights. Also, take in consideration that it was 10 of us going on this trip so I wanted to make sure we all got the same flights and times! When flying anywhere in Mexico, we fly with Volaris. We have not had a bad experience with them at all and I love that every year in March they have an annual sale for 80% off flights…. like what? You can’t beat that deal! We use that time to book our trips for the whole year to any place in Mexico that we want to visit!

For our stay, I decided that it was best that we stayed somewhere centric and since none of us had traveled to Guadalajara before, we wanted to make sure we stayed in the touristic areas! We stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton Centro Histórico which was in downtown! I first saw this beautiful hotel on TikTok and had read good reviews. Such a gorgeous hotel in the middle of everything. I give it a 8/10. Rooms were a bit smaller than I thought. The price was very very accessible at $60 a night. Such a steal! *pats myself in the back*

For this particular trip, I wanted to go above and beyond for my hubs since it was his big 3-0 so I really took my time looking for hotels, services and experiences that I know we needed to see! We went and experienced so many cities within Guadalajara with the help of our driver! If it wasn’t for him & his wife we wouldn’t of seen half of the things we saw! We hired Transportadora Garcia Tours whom was referred to us from a family friend. I’ll link everything at the end you guys no worries! I got you. He was not only our driver, but also our tour guide. He picked us up to and from the airport (so you are saving money just in that transportation) took us everyday to tours (which I’ll talk about next) and would stay with us until we were ready to head back to the hotel regardless of time. Seriously exceptional service!

For the tours and excursions, our tour guide took us to some IG worthy places! Went to three tequila distilleries (Don Valente, Tres Mujeres & Jose Cuervo)! Took us to the infamous Cantaritos El Güero which was the BEST TIME OF OUR LIVES! Like no words explain the vibes and the people having the best time! The best part was all of our family & friends having the best time too! Granted…. We visited all these places in one day. Yeah, crazy day to say the least. We were all done by 10pm! Besides that one crazy drinking night, we got to visit about three other cities within Jalisco! We visited: Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Tequila, Jalisco, Chapala, Jalisco, Ajjic, Jalisco & obviously Guadalajara, Jalisco! Tlaquepaque is one considered a “Pueblo Mágico” which means that they have preserved that city as it was since it was built back in the 1900’s or maybe even in the 1800’s so it can keep its culture in tact. Let me tell you, that visiting those “Pueblos Mágicos” you feel the warmth of the city. You feel the beautiful culture and makes you feel right at home, honestly.

Needless to say, that this trip was very special to us! About to link up anything I can! Hope ya’ll enjoyed all the deets of our trip! xoxo
